Job Description: Manager / Sr. Manager - Automation  

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Automation Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for managing the Automation Department that handles the Automation Control Systems pertaining to Ammann’s Plants Division for Asphalt – Batch mix and Continuous Mix Plants and Concrete Plants. You will be overseeing the day-to-day activities of a highly skilled, dynamic, and talented Automation team managing activities of Production, Project Management, Site Issue Resolutions, Customer and Site Teams handling, R&D Projects, Keeping Up-to Date with latest Technologies and Inter-Departmental activities. You will report to Head of Electrical & Automation Department (Assistant General Manager – Electrical & Automation). 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Scope Based Order Processing, and Production Governance (planning and governance) (with proper maintenance of MIS information, logs, and adherence of standard operating procedures). 
  • Licenses and IT Hardware Stock management  
  • Site Support – E&C Dept and Service Dept (with proper case management mechanisms, logs, and ability to take techno-commercial decisions quickly and correctly). 
  • Automation programming in STL, PLC systems, SQL Server, and C / C++ Languages, Python. 
  • Troubleshooting SQL Errors, Program Compile Errors etc. 
  • Co-ordination – with Inter-Departmental Teams (Sales, Customer, Electrical Design and Mechanical Design). 
  • Trainings – to Team Members, Other Departments. 
  • Maintain monthly Production Register, Issue Register, Support Logs, Team Effort Logs etc. 
  • Liaising with Global Automation Engineering Department for Technical Data, Skills, and Information exchange. Work with Global Automation Department for Program Standardization, Template Standardization, Parameters and Records Standardizations. 
  • Identifying Departmental Training Needs, Skills gap analysis, Team Technical Development needs. Identify Improvement opportunities in Process and Product. 
  • Liaising with Spares and After Sales Departments for quotations, & Quality Control. 
  • Liaising from time to time with Government Departments for knowledge and awareness training. 

Requirements: 

  • 12 – 18 years’ work experience in field of Automation or Software Development Industry. 
  • Has experience in leading teams, leading projects independently, and handling R&D / development projects independently.  
  • Is currently working as a Team Leader / Project Manager / Automation manager. 
  • Ability to handle customers, service departments and handle pressure associated with providing resolution for site issues. 
  • Significant Hands-on experience in PLC / STL programming. (Ladder programming is ok, but STL is preferred). 
  • Knowledge (with deep working experience & programming expertise) of DCS / PCS platforms involving IEC61131 is mandatory.
  • Microsoft, Linus & Ubuntu operation system functional knowledge, MS SQL basics, Python (Tkinter, Pandas, OS Module, Py Modbus, VS Codium) is mandatory. Basics of Crystal Reports, ms-xml and knowledge of RTOS is required.
  • Significant Hands-on experience in SQL server Database is mandatory. 
  • Significant Hands-on experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Knowledge of Communication Protocols – EtherNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, ModbusTCP/IP, Profinet, Serial RS232/485 is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of IoT communication protocols MQTT, JSON script is required.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS Cloud communication protocols for data transfer is required.
  • Working knowledge of GitHub and Git repository creation and maintenance of IP creation with Download control and version control is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Analog Electronics like Industrial Analog Signals, ADCs, DACs, Load-cells etc. 
  • Past work experience in Asphalt / Concrete Machinery Industry will be a significant advantage. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for learning.
