The Position

 

Position Title                                    Project Manager – Machine Division

Position Level                                   Dy Manager / Manager

Location                                            Ditasan, Mehsana, Gujarat

Direct Report                                   Head – Design (Department Head)

 

Main Focus & Challenges

 

The focus of this position is to manage new product development projects (Compactors & Pavers) The position would have responsibility of leading the technical projects from feasibility to launch through structured approach. The role shall include high degree of collobration between cross functional team to ensure product upgrade from design, costing, quality, manufacturing and service standpoint of view. This role represents single point contact in domestic and global forums

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  1. Form, manage and lead the cross-functional team(s) responsible for the complete and successful implementation of assigned projects
  2. Be responsible for the project(s) from start to finish, including timing, costs, scope of work, risk, communications and team project activities/deliverables
  3. Assign and follow-up on assigned actions in such a way as to fully understand the project status at all times
  4. For Industrialization focused projects, use the Ammann NPD Process to lead the project team through the gate requirements for a successful delivery.
  5. Promote manufacturing safety and efficiency through implementation of method/process changes, ergonomic application and safety awareness
  6. Establish and maintain project related budgets to show all opportunities and exceptions.
  7. Understand stakeholder requirements and distinguish between requirements and wants.
  8. Secure adequate internal and external resources to achieve project objectives
  9. Create and manage appropriate time plan(s) by defining tailored milestones and deliveries that complement and are in alignment with the project main time plan
  10. Ensure all communication and direction of plant related activities is coordinated through your project team and network
  11. Interact on a daily basis with other line organizations involved in the project
  12. Take active part of decision making with cross functional team
  13. Communicate effectively to ensure common goals are understood.
  14. Manage and Maintain all Project Status documentation and presentations
  15. Present Status Updates on a regular basis whether requested by managers, required by the process or by self-recognizing the need to do so
  16. Report project status, request for support, and make recommendations to the members of project(s) governing bodies

 

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or similar

8+ years of progressive project management experience, leading medium to large scale projects

 

Additional Requirements

 

  1. Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, manufacturing, the product, production standards and efficiency optimization tools
  2. Strong Leadership experience
  3. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and coordinate cross functional teams
  4. Strong ability to successfully work with minimal direct instruction/supervision
  5. Excellent verbal and written skills
  6. Strong communication and presentation skills
  7. Talent for inspiring leadership
  8. Strong ability to prioritize
  9. High organizational ability and negotiation skills
  10. Technical background both about the product and the manufacturing processes
  11. A good understanding of automotive / heavy trucking / heavy engineering industry principles and/or business drivers
  12. Ability and willingness to learn new manufacturing systems
  13. Project Management Professional certification preferred but not mandatory
